Bell Ringing in the Sheepy GroupThe Sheepy Group is fortunate that all five of its historic churches enjoy the benefit of bells, although with varying degrees of serviceability.
All Saints Church, Ratcliffe CuleyRatcliffe Culey church has two bells currently stored on the church floor, but there are proposals to re-hang them, for chiming only. St James' Church, TwycrossTwycross has three bells, but the present structural state of the tower and the bell-frame prevents them from being rung. All Saints Church, Sheepy MagnaSheepy has a ring of six bells on plain bearings, within the original wooden frame. They are a little heavy to ring and are difficult to hear inside the ringing chamber. St Botolph's Church, SibsonSibson has an excellent ring of six bells, after the installation of two 'new' trebles in July 2007. St Edith's Church, Orton-on-the-HillOrton-on-the-Hill installed a new treble in October 2007, to augment its ring to six (see picture below). Funding was provided by the Keltek Trust. NewsSt Botolph's Church, Sibson - The local band of ringers rang the first Quarter Peal on the new bells on 14th October 2007. The members of the Hinckley Guild, who assisted this project significantly, has rung the first Full Peal. St Edith's Church, Orton-on-the-Hill - On August 10th 2008 a team of ringers, including tower captain Graham Titley, rang the first Full Peal on all six bells.
